About Me
My name is Douglas. I own and operate a boutique advertising agency and brand studio called Kingsland. I was born and raised in New York City to a family of devout readers. My parents inspired everything in this library. Theirs is more impressive than mine. One day I hope to get their Garden online too.
On My Categories
The labels are idiosyncratic, I know. But I wanted to make it easy enough to browse without requiring the Dewey Decimal System. Click around. You'll figure it out.
Cover Art
Wherever possible I have tried to pull the cover art for the actual book I physically own and read. This is proving far more difficult than I expected, so perhaps one day I will upload photos of my more rare and beautiful book covers. For now I'm doing my best.
Do I Endorse All These Books?
Nope! I'm attempting to include everything I've ever read or at least remember reading, starting with books that are physically in my home library right now (including the true classics like "Will YOUR Dog Reincarnate?"). So remember, just because it's in my Garden doesn't mean I liked the book.
We Read and We Don't Judge
I think it's important to read smart takes on anything and everything, including political or ideological perspectives that I don't personally agree with. They abound here.
Additionally, some of these books were written by people who are or were not exactly wonderful human beings. I genuinely don't care. If you only read books written by saints, you're going to have an extremely dull library and an even duller world view. Get over it.
